Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Basic Planner (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

Data Stored Locally
All user data you create in the app is stored locally on your device:
- Events: Titles, notes, dates, start and end times, recurrence settings, and color choice.
- To-dos / Tasks: Titles, dates, scope (day/week/month/year), completion status, importance flag, and ordering.
- Special Dates: Birthdays and yearly or one-time occasions you add.
- App Preferences: Display settings such as date format, time format, first day of week, completed-task behavior, and selected country for public holidays.
This information is stored in a local SQLite database and the app’s private preferences. It is not transmitted to any servers operated by us.
Limited Internet Use
The app does not require an account and does not send your personal calendar content over the internet. The app uses the network only as follows:
- Public Holidays (optional): If you select a country in Settings, the app downloads public holiday dates and names for that country code and year from a third-party public-holiday API (Nager.Date). The request contains only the country code and year — never your events, tasks, notes, or any account information. If you do not select a country, no such request is made. As with any internet request, your network connection may reveal your IP address to the third-party service while the request is in transit; this is a normal property of how the internet works and is not used to identify you within the app.
- Report a Bug: This option opens your email app with a pre-filled message addressed to the developer. Anything you choose to send is handled by your email provider; we receive only what you send.
- More Apps / Get Organized: Opens the Google Play Store. Google’s policies apply to that experience.
Third-Party Services
Currently, the app does not use advertisements, analytics SDKs, or cloud storage. In the future, optional features may be introduced:
- Advertisements: Device and usage information may be collected by third-party ad networks. Calendar content, tasks, and notes will never be shared.
- Analytics: Anonymous usage statistics may be collected to improve app performance.
- Cloud Storage & Sync: Optional backup and synchronization between devices. Requires explicit opt-in.
- Cross-App Integration: Optional sharing of data between authorized apps. Requires explicit consent.
All future features will be clearly disclosed in app updates or within the app interface, and users will have the option to opt-in or opt-out.
Data We Do Not Collect
We do not directly collect or store:
- Event titles, task content, notes, or special dates on external servers
- Personal identification information (name, email, phone)
- Precise location data
- Contact information
- Photos, media, or data from other apps
- Events, tasks, notes, special dates, and app preferences remain local to your device.
- The optional public-holiday lookup is used only to display public holidays in the calendar for the country and year you chose.
- No content is shared or used for advertising or analytics unless you explicitly opt-in to future features.
Data Security
- Local Storage: All planner data is stored in a local SQLite database in app-private storage.
- No Automatic Backup: The app disables automatic cloud backup (
android:allowBackup="false").
- Device Security: Data security depends on your device’s security features (screen lock, encryption, OS updates, etc.).
No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children’s Privacy
- The app is suitable for all ages.
- The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
- Any future ads will comply with child-safe standards and COPPA.
Data Retention and Deletion
- You can delete individual events, tasks, and special dates at any time within the app.
- Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored app data.
- No server-side storage of your calendar content exists at this time.
User Rights
- Access, modify, and delete your events, tasks, and special dates at any time within the app.
- Change app preferences (including the holiday country) in Settings at any time.
- Opt-out of any optional features when they are implemented.
- EEA/Norwegian users have rights under GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, portability, objection, complaint).
- Users in the European Economic Area (including Norway) who believe their personal data has been handled in a way that does not comply with applicable law may lodge a complaint with their local data protection supervisory authority. In Norway this is Datatilsynet (https://www.datatilsynet.no).
Right to Erasure (“Right to be Forgotten”)
- You can delete individual events, tasks, or special dates within the app.
- You can uninstall the app to remove all local data.
- You can contact us to request assistance with deletion of any data that may be held by third-party services (such as a future advertising network), though we have limited control over third-party data.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
- Updates will be reflected by the “Last Updated” date.
- Users will be informed of material changes via app updates or in-app notifications.
- Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
